Callington Mill in Oatlands central Tasmania. Built in 1837 and still operational today it is the oldest operational mill of its type in the southern hemisphere. The Georgian buildings of Oatlands are clearly visible from the Midlands Highway but one must venture off the main drag to truly appreciate the history of this town. A bit of Devonshire tea was the order of the day as I called through mid-morning and it didn’t disappoint at the Pancake and Crepe Shop!
